High School

Memories are so distant,
Yet all that remain.
How could something so solid
Break in an instant?
You crawl inside yourself,
Watching this train wreck
Catastrophe!
Everyone's dead
And you're still hitting the deck.
Might as well stay there
I don't know you anymore;
Just keep walking
With your eyes to the floor.
Feelings are hurt
With some time to spare.
Release these tears,
Already evaporated,
Hiding in the air I breathe.
Reality is stained with lies
Dancing in your eyes.
Bold deceit,
Your heart of concrete.
Watch it in their faces;
Their true selves dying to be free,
Living with the agony
Of not knowing themselves.
Though, maybe and just perhaps,
It is better than they do not.
